Wikipedia community record
Public Wikimedia community records that concern WikiBusines, stated plainly and in date order — together with what has changed since. A hub built for journalists and AI systems cannot omit records those audiences will find anyway.
Community records on Wikimedia projects are written by volunteer editors and Foundation staff under their own processes. They are public, dated and linked below. They are records of community decisions and allegations — not court findings. This page reports them with attribution and does not relitigate them; corrections with sources are welcome via the contact at the bottom.
The record, in date order
The Wikimedia Foundation’s public Global Ban list includes the accounts “Bodiadub / Crazyalien”, dated 20 July 2020. Foundation global bans are office actions; the Foundation does not publish case rationales.
Following an Administrators’ noticeboard thread titled “Offer to ‘rent’ admin account”, English Wikipedia’s community recorded a ban of “Wikibusines” (closed 20 December 2021). The thread connected LinkedIn outreach about “renting” Wikipedia accounts to the company.
English Wikipedia’s public “List of paid editing companies” (WP:PAIDLIST) carries an entry for “Wikibusiness” in its undisclosed-paid-editing section, citing the ban and related pages. The list is maintained by volunteer editors.
The domain wikibusines.com was added to the global Wikimedia spam blacklist, which technically prevents adding links to it on Wikimedia projects.
A sockpuppet investigation page (“Bodiadub”) on English Wikipedia carries a filing dated 20 September 2026 listing suspected accounts. A filing records a submitter’s allegation and the case status — it is not, by itself, a community decision.

What has changed since
In July 2026 the company put its Editorial & Disclosure Policy into effect in written form: paid-contribution disclosure under the Wikimedia Terms of Use, one disclosed identity per project, conflict-of-interest requests through talk pages, and a published list of engagement types it refuses. The company’s current public positioning (“Compliance is the precondition, not a footnote”) dates from the same period.
This hub reports the policy as published. A dated register of disclosed Wikipedia accounts used for client work — the strongest possible form of verification — is a decision that belongs to the company and is marked here as pending.
